Located in Grand Canyon Village on the South Rim and operated by the National Park Service, Mather Campground is open year round and offers tent and RV sites (no RV hook-ups). Laundry and shower facilities are located adjacent to the campground as well as a dump station (closed in winter), grocery store and service station. Group and individual sites available, reservations recommended during peak season.
Adjacent to the Mather Campground in Grand Canyon Village, Trailer Village offers RV sites with hook-ups as well as a dump station. Laundry, showers, groceries and a service station are all located either on site or adjacent to the RV village. Reservations recommended.
This backcountry campground is located on the canyon floor of the Grand Canyon and is a popular overnight destination for hikers using the Bright Angel and South Kaibab Grand Canyon trails. Located close to the Phantom Ranch along the Colorado River, the campground's amenities are limited to restrooms and running water, picnic tables and dry tent sites. Use requires a backcountry permit from the National Park Service in advance.
East of Grand Canyon Village, Desert View Campground is located along the South Rim and is open from May through October. The campground has 50 tent and small RV sites and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Services are limited to basic restrooms and sinks, two water faucets for general use and campfire grills at each site.
